Happy Hump Day!
Anyone else a fan of Wednesdays? I love them because they are my one slow work day where I am able to catch up on my projects and tasks, also we are halfway to the weekend! What better way to start they day, well….. Coffee would make it better and this morning we got to try Limitless Coffee in the Fulton District of Chicago.
The reason for us being out in this area of town at 7am on a Wednesday you ask? Baby monster Duncan was off to pup daycare for a trial day to see if we could board him at this fancy pup hotel in the West Loop. For those interested.
Now I could write a ten chapter book on our pup hotel experience, but I’ll wrap that up in a sentence to save you all the time.
It was a great experience being first time pup parents and for our dogs first overnight I couldn’t ask for better care, but we will not be doing the “hotel” stay again. 🙂
So after dropping Duncan off we drove up the road to Limitless Coffee! If you Google them before coming in all you will see are pictures of these crazy glitter lattes, beautiful latte art and all the goofy shots that go along with that. Naturally those caught my eye and I was curious to check them out. Granted I am not a glitter latte girl I knew DAnny would be down to give it a try since it was Charcoal flavored. (This is the latte we got at Sawada Matcha).
Limitless Coffee is a BEAUTIFUL coffee shop with natural light coming through the massive sky light that takes up the whole center of the roof. The decor is very modern with white tile and marble, simple wood tables. A very clean look and feel. When Danny and I walked in I think our mouths hit the floor, we have always talked about wanting to design a kitchen similarly. We loved it, plenty of seating, shared working space along the wall with dry erase boards too! Very trendy and perfect for the neighborhood with all the big tech moguls moving in. The bean roaster is straight back and you can see it through the glass window, just one roaster working here at this coffee shop.
The baristas were all friendly and very welcoming the second we walked in, clearly they were still setting up for the day, but very helpful with all my questions. You could honestly come here a hundred times and try a different drink, there are so many options and add ins to make each drink unique and different.
Needless to say I will be back plenty of times.
Danny the man went with the Charcoal latte, with glitter! I at first was intrigued by the mushroom latte they had, after asking a few questions about it it was described as having an earthy flavor but was not caffeinated, hard pass on that this early in the morning. I played it safe and went with the lavender latte with oat milk. (lame I know, but I wanted to give this place an honest try before going wild!)
Limitless also specializes in teas and offers so many different tea mixtures and offers lots of matcha beverages. I love a good matcha so this will have to be another drink I try, recently tried matcha iced and it blew my mind how refreshing it actually was! I highly recommend giving it a taste this summer, it was a good cool down on a hot day. Matcha packs the caffeine too.
Once our drinks came out of course I was snapping a million pictures of Danny’s glitter latte, it was just so beautiful actually, the color and everything was awesome! Mine actually came out with a pink hue and was equally as beautiful! Taste is what matters though and both were delicious, lavender is my favorite flavor so I loved mine and Danny’s though it had the glitter tastes earthy and rich, not sweet at all so it was perfect as well. They know what they are doing here at Limitless!
The cafe is 100% set up for people to come in and spend that day working and getting caffeinated, they have so many different caffeine concoctions on their menu, like blended coffee drinks that you can add collagen or proteins to, caffeinated sparkling waters and juices and all their food is healthy and packed with nutrients to serve as brain power and food. I would love to come work at here, wishing I lived closer though.
I also really need to purchase some of their coffee beans, they are all sourced from farms from the Central America region and brought right in to Chicago for roasting. Each bean has its own unique story and flavor that all sound delicious! Whoo love supporting Chicago born coffee shops! This is a must visit if you are in the area!
