Heritage Bicycle – Fulton Market

Another weekend another coffee shop! This time off to Heritage for some bicycles and coffee!

This weekend we had plan to visit Danny’s grandma, it had been way too long since we saw her. Also, her birthday was coming up and Danny, that sweet heart, made her a soup that we wanted to make sure we dropped off. So naturally coffee was needed to start our road trip this morning.

Heritage Bicycle is one of my favorite cafes in Lakeview and they just recently opened another bicycle/coffee shop in Fulton Market, which is slightly on our way to the highway so I was able to  justify a quick pit stop.

I was really not sure what to expect when we arrived, I had seen and heard about the opening through Instagram, but not being familiar with the area I was not sure what building this coffee shop was actually going to be in. When we pulled up it was actually in a brand new apartment complex building. Extremely fancy and HUGE. We parked across the street and walking in the doors were automatic sliding doors that opened into a massive room. I’m talking 12 feet plus ceiling height and just so much space and table.

The bike counter was in the back and actually at this exactly time there was someone back there working on a bike or building one. Hard to tell for sure.

There was also a very large bike rack in the back corner too, all the necessary bike accessories and swap hung on the wall across from the cafe menu and counter wall. It was just amazing and completely different form their other space up i Lakeview. That space is much smaller and squeezed into a small outer building, where this is brand new and modern. Totally different feels, but both very well done and decorated. I still love them.

Walking up to the coffee counter my eyes instantly went to all the treats they had on display!

OMG if it were not lent I would have been asking for one of each. Unfortunately enough for Danny and I we gave up fried food and chocolate for lent. This has drastically prevented both of us from enjoying our indulgent treats. No chicken fingers, fresh fries, donuts or anything then chocolate. Boo I know, but we are going hard till our vacation and then once in DC for our trip we plan to allow some cheats. I mean it’s vacation, cant have food restrictions then! But yes their bakes good options are also worth a trip for. I went with what I thought would be a simple oat milk latte with an extra shot of espresso, but sadly I think there was still too much milk added to my drink this morning, or I should have gone a size down.

The oat milk latte is always one of my favorites when I see it on menus, but sadly for some reason today this one in particular did not sit well in my stomach. I was only really able to enjoy half of it before I needed to just stop as it was starting to upset my stomach. I want to come back out here in the summer and possibly get it one ice! Oh yum that would be so delicious.

Even though this AM I was not a fan of my coffee I still really enjoy Heritage Coffee, I was very excited to see they have plans to even open more cafes to come all over the city! This I think is so awesome. Since back when I first found the cafe in Lakeview I got the feeling they were still just a small coffee shop and now clearly they are growing which warms my heart to see!

Can’t wait to see what else this cafe chair will roll out with here in the city!
