Eva’s

Coming back to Eva’s, but this time capturing enough of an experience to write a post! 

Thinking back to the first time Danny andI came to Eva’s this was when we lived in our first apartment in the city and I don’t believe Blonde Bean Head was around! Coffee addition was still there and going strong, but no cafes were being document yet. Crazy to think about right. 

Back to Eva’s we go, sad it’s taken this long to come back, since we now actually live practically around the corner from it. The cafe is right on Sedgwick just past the the L stop, extremely convenient for those commuting to that L stop, which I do everyday but never bother wondering into. (Our first experience might not have been the best).

Eva’s as a cafe it’s an absolute gem! I would love to hangout there all day long, and its set up in a way that you literally could, couches, tables chairs, board games, printers for those working and free WiFi! What more do you need beside coffee and possibly company or a good book to read. Easy to spend a ton of time here and aside from the coffee Eva’s has food, snacks and tea options. Pleasing everyone!

I was excited to come back, we haven’t been since the one visit and I know we left not totally crazy about our coffee, but it might have been what we had picked to drink. I truly cannot remember so i could avoid this coffee shop any longer especially considering how close it is. So we planned to stop in on our way to run a few last minute wedding errands. Danny’s brother is getting married next weekend and Danny is really in need of shoe. 

When we arrived to Eva’s this morning it was much less busy than the last time we visited. It was actually great to be able to take in the space while it was actually more open. The the floors are old brick and cobblestones and the whole decor makes you feel like you might be in your first and grandmothers living room, it’s extremely cozy and welcoming. As you walk back toward the coffee bar there are larger tables that are clearly available for game playing or working. Lots a seats for people in this cafe. When you do get the the back and start to take in the menu it’s pretty overwhelming all the possible options available here. 

Since there was such a huge enficice on all the tea options I figured I had to try my go o Chai Tea latte,  see what this one was all about. Granted I did notice they serve Intelligentsia coffee, which I am actually not a fan of. I am not sure what it is about their particular beans, I have given them multiple tries and evertiem feel the coffee and espresso tastes burnt. Unfortunately this was still the case, I could taste a little burn through the Chai Tea flavor, I also was not a fan of the tea favor, dare I say too spicy? Danny order a cappuccino and was not overly impressed, his was much too milky tasting. A good cappuccino should be more foam than milk. 

Oh well we still got our caffeine fix for the day and there are no regrets revisiting this cafe, i needed to get back there and try it again! Glad I did, I would highly recommend trying the food and using the space to hangout or possibly come to get some work done.
